General Meeting Minutes
President Mike Bresnahan informed members that the Board is working on the details of funding the community programs that Dave Twomey founded. He also announced that the San Diego Food Bank will be giving REA a plaque in honor of our continued support.
Stacey LoMedico announced two upcoming tours of two clean water facilities. Those wishing to participate should sign up online ASAP.
Cynthia Queen of SDCERS reported that the 1099s have been sent out, and that SDCERS is entering the third phase of accommodating City employees who were affected by Prop B.
The program was a presentation by Matt Harris of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA) on the ongoing work to replace Terminal 1 (T1). He reported that all of the steel infrastructure of Phase 1 of the New T1 is in place. The Parking Plaza is scheduled to open this Fall, with the first phase of the new T1 opening in late 2025.
There is much more work to be done while the current Terminal 1 building is demolished and Phase 2 is completed, in 2027. He also showed renderings of the interior of the New T1, and a photo of the view from the post-security outdoor dining area.
