President Mike Bresnahan’s Message
Hello, as you probably know one of the efforts REA members make to contribute to the San Diego community is to participate on the annual San Diego Food Bank holiday food drive. This year Board member Joan Hernandez led this effort which ended last month. We have received a very nice letter from the SD Food Bank thanking our members for their contributions, it reads:
“You have made a big impact in the lives of San Diegans in need! On behalf of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, but more importantly those we serve, thank you for organizing the Retired Employee Association Virtual Food Drive and raising a total of $2,354.99.”
The communication went on to say that the money REA donated through our virtual fund drive would result in the equivalent of 4,710 meals being provided to San Diegans who need a little help.
Overall, the SD Food Bank anticipates distributing close to 50 million pounds of food into the San Diego community this year. On behalf of the entire Board of REA, I would like to thank you for your contributions. You have made an impact on the lives of San Diegans in need.
