President Mike Bresnahan’s Message
Hello! I hope that you and your families have been safe through the recent inclement weather.
In a previous report I described the REA Board’s annual retreat and what we accomplished during the meeting. For this month I want to focus a bit more on the goals the Board set for itself in 2024. After brainstorming a number of ideas, the Board then ranked the goals in order to prioritize our effort.
The following are a number of the items that we will focus on this year. First, we want to review the need for and benefits of updating the REA Web site. Second, the Board wants to investigate the costs and benefits of enabling electronic payments for members rather than requiring payment by check or cash as we currently do for things such as the monthly lunches. Third, we hope to provide field tour opportunities to members and assess how popular they may be.
The Board will also spend time on finding ways to increase REA membership and attendance at the monthly meetings, have introductory meetings with any new Council members elected in 2024, fill vacant Board positions and see if we may want to increase our social media effort.
2024 will be a busy year!
