Mike Bresnahan
Hello,
I have a few reminders this month for everyone. First, our association no longer accepts cash payments for lunch at our monthly meetings. Members may conveniently pay in advance using Stripe or bring a check to the meeting. Paying through Stripe before the meeting speeds up the check-in process, reduces waiting in line, and provides an immediate receipt for your payment. It also helps our volunteer Board members by simplifying recordkeeping, reducing the need to handle cash, and making it easier to provide accurate meal counts for our caterer. We appreciate your cooperation in helping make our monthly meetings run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Second, many of you have probably read that the City of San Diego will discontinue charging for parking in Balboa Park beginning in January. However, that decision does not currently apply to the San Diego Zoo parking lot, which serves the War Memorial Building. As of this writing, the Zoo has not announced any changes to its parking policy. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep our members informed as we learn more.
We are also pleased to report that we have an excellent lineup of speakers scheduled for the remainder of the year. Our programs continue to provide interesting and informative presentations on a variety of topics, making each meeting well worth attending.
Whether you come for the program, the lunch, or simply the opportunity to reconnect with former coworkers and friends, we encourage you to join us each month. The friendships and camaraderie shared by our fellow City retirees are among the greatest strengths of our association, and we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
