President Mike Bresnahan’s Message
Hello, after many years of service to REA John Tsiknas has decided that he can no longer perform the duties that he has done for our organization. A number of the tasks that John did were done in the background so many people may not be aware of them, however they have been very helpful in the management of the organization. One way to characterize his duties is as our REA Records Manager.
The membership records of REA are on a data base maintained by Integrated Labor Solutions (ILS), a company owned by Jonathan Hayes. You may be aware of Jon because his is also the manager of San Diego Public Employee Benefit Association (SDPEBA). Most of the tasks John performed require a working knowledge of the ILS database.
Among the tasks John did include but are not limited to: a historic membership report and chart, resolution of email delivery failures, special reports requested by REA officers and/or Board members. John used his data processing training to write some of programs that created these special reports.
As I mentioned above, John has decided that he can no longer continue assisting REA. We are looking to see if there is a current REA member that is interested in contributing to the success of our organization by taking over these duties. You will be provided training on performing these tasks. It is estimated that it will take 5-10 hours per month for these tasks. Whether you are a recent retiree or have been retired for some time this is an opportunity to help guide REA. Attention to detail and some data processing skills will be helpful.
If you may be interested in this opportunity please contact [email protected]. I have a longer document that gives further detail about the various tasks. I can send this to you for you to review.
Thank you.
