President Mike Bresnahan’s Message
Hello! Welcome to spring 2024. In past reports we have described our Image Enhancement Effort, part of which is REA’s participation in food drives sponsored by the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. I am pleased to report that thanks to the generous contributions of REA members during our recent food drive, our organization was recognized at a recent event hosted by the San Diego Food Bank. On February 21, 2024, Board member Joan Hernandez and I attended the SD Food Bank’s annual Food Drive Recognition Luncheon & Award Ceremony. At this event 60 organizations were acknowledged for their contributions.

Along with organizations such as Cal Coast Credit Union, Barons Market, NBC 7 SD, SDG&E and many others, REA received a plaque celebrating the success of our efforts. During the ceremony the name of each honoree was announced and was then presented with an award as a small gesture of appreciation. The Food Bank CEO stated that over 2.2 million pounds of food was generated during 2023 and was essential for the Food Bank to be able to continue its mission.
Our Board intends to participate in future food drives so that we can continue to support those in our community who need assistance.
