General Meeting Minutes – 8/10/2023

Vice-President for Advocacy Mike Bresnahan welcomed members.

Gregg Rademacher reported that the 2% COLA was distributed. He informed members that the RFPs for contracting out health care benefits enrollment are being discussed by Risk Management but we do not know how many were submitted. He announced that despite his protestations, Marcelle Voorhies Rossmann will be retiring in 2024.

The program was Nelly Hernandez of Alzheimer’s San Diego. She informed members that Alzheimer’s is one of over 100 types of dementia. She also informed members that there are commonalities between symptoms of Alzheimer’s and ordinary aging – memory loss, slower thinking, and physical decline – but that behavioral changes only occur with Alzheimer’s.
