General Meeting Minutes – 5/13/2025

President Mike Bresnahan informed members that because the second Tuesday in November is Veterans’ Day, we will be rescheduling the meeting with the new date to be announced.

Gregg Rademacher of SDCERS assured members that despite the sudden recent turmoil on Wall Street, SDCERS invest for the long term and is actually doing quite well. He reported that the transfer of retiree benefits administration to BOS is going smoothly.

PROGRAM

The program was new SDFD Chief Robert Logan. He described his youth interest in firefighting and how he got involved in SDFD through Brothers United. He said that he developed a strong work ethic, and that being a native San Diegan he has a vested interest in keeping our city safe.

Chief Logan described how he kept our city protected while sending 100 firefighters to LA during their wildfires. He informed members of the City’s “Ready Set Go” program that provides residential fire prevention recommendations; it is available online.
