PROGRAM
The program was Dr Wilma Wooten, Director of San Diego County Public Health Services. Dr Wooten presented a fact-filled PowerPoint presentation on the history of Covid-19 in the county, its impacts on various demographic groups, and the rollout of the various vaccines. Among the highlights were: San Diego County’s first case was reported exactly one year ago, on March 9, 2020; 54% of the cases are among people aged 20-49 and 30% are among people aged 50 and older; to date, 13% of county residents are fully vaccinated; and that EMTs are providing vaccinations in rural areas of the county where it is not practical to establish vaccination centers.
